they make mini-micro prongs, are there really small fur savers, like under 12 inches?
what would you recommend for a Chinese Crested who is not a big puller at all, but can't wear a regular collar or a harness because of the crest(it goes down the back too)?

I use a rounded nylon martingale for my toy dogs that I keep in coat. The rings are on the side of the neck so it shouldn't rip the crest fuzz.
Really for my toys it goes from flat collar nothing else except a flat collar. A harsh correct for my dogs involves a solid poke to the neck using my finger. I don't like collar corrections on toys, you run the risk of serious over corrections which can include taking your dog into the atmosphere.
i have thought of that, i also considered a show style nylon martingale collar.....unless that's what you mean, lol.
right now, he is wearing a really thin slip chain, i mean, uber fine....it works, but again, he doesn't pull in the least, or need a correction, at this point.

I actually use a martingale for a larger dog. Like a cocker spaniel size dog. I find that the wider I go the less wear on the hair. Another option of course is a rolled or cable type collar. It's almost the same material used for the dominate dog collar.
I find that most of my dogs do better wear wise with a wide collar over the little fine ones.
he has no hair on the underside of his neck...just the top, but during the winter he will have a full coat, he is a powder puff crested, who is currently shaved into a hairless crested cut. i am growing his coat out once it starts getting cold.
so right now, what collar he wears won't be as big a deal as lets say in january...
