I am not really new here posted a bit a while ago my breed is Siberians we dog sled and we have the most exciting times. But with training we are limited to what they can do as far as training goes.
so after 10 wonderful years of my ckc siberians I have added a new breed to our kennel. we have our first mal.so Far I am thrilled he is everything that we had desired in a dog he is still a baby at 7 months but still show incredble need to work learn and train.
I do however feel a bit like a new dog owner in many ways being new to the breed and learning to teach different ways of training and different ways of him learning so I will come here as often as I can in order to take first hand information when it comes to this amazing dog.
so far I am floored with him and I think he is suited to us and our family wonderfully, I chose this breed out of 3 from theinformation I read here from members owning them.
so I guess hello and I hope to be able to ask questions even if a bit basic to make sure this boy has the best oppertunities for training
well we have not had him here for long and I must say he is pretty perfect for what I need. I was expecting a bit more chaos with him so I am assuming he is not going to be the most outgoing of mals but once again for the first guy here of the breed that suits me fine.
we are playing games right now trying to see where his strengths lay and so far he is great with tugs and scenting. he has learnt many commands so far and is very willing which impresses me.
nothing more pleaseing that to have a dog want to learn more and faster, it will encourage me to take him as far as he is willing to go.
I am looking into trying to get into a schutzhund club and get the basic command names and training tips. I am not sure which area of schutzhund will suit him but I am keen on learning all areas if he is capable. Still learning about schutzhund. I have the bascis idea and am stuck like glue to this forum to try and read as much as I can from hands on expereince.
so I will try and get some pics up here of him took some the other day. I am trying to learn the mal lines right now and there is alot that I have to learn. In a away, being in a differnt breed I am feeling like a fish out of water, and this is exciting to learn the lines genetics training and kennels

Congrats on your new Mal. He's a cutey, looks like he's got a pretty plush coat. How old? I'm sure if you post some of the pedigree information here there will be people that can help you research the lines.
Congratulations, I can see the Turv in your guy there. My male is only 8 months old so I'm sure we'll be dealing with many of the same things at the same times. I've had my guy in Schutzhund training since 6 months and he is showing great potential in the obedience and protection. One thing I would highly recommend as a result of you getting him at 7 months and that would be a lot of one on one bonding. Best of luck with him! Bill
