I've just finished reading Kymythy Schultze's Natural Nutrition for Cats, after having finished her Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats.
I like her recipe for a cat supplement, which she calls Super Supp.
Has anyone made it?
The first ingredient has me a bit flummoxed...1/2 cup plain, unflavored gelatin. I don't use gelatin much, but the stuff I have is in packets in a small box (Knox). To get 1/2 cup would take boxes and boxes of this stuff!
So, are there gelatin sources that come in this kind of volume? (that don't contain any MSG, of course). Specific product names would be very helpful and appreciated<g>.
That's not what she says. And, it seems like such a large amount that it has me wondering...
The recipe is:
1/2 c. plain, unflavored gelatin powder
1/2 c. kelp or dulse powder
1/2 c. ground, raw, shelled sunflower seeds
2 t. calcium-ascorbate powder
1 heaping T. ground freeze-dried liver or heart (optional)
I visited her website to confirm this ingredient, but the only way to contact her is to request her to make a presentation.
Hey, Genie, instead of helping out with Gelatin questions, (although I know Leih is grateful) could you let us know what's going on w/the dog's eye, please? I'm freaking out over here and it's not even my dog!
