A few months ago my wife and I bought a sheltie german shepard puppy.. now I've had a multitude of mixed puppies.. a german shep dalmation and a belgium shepard/pit bull
I didn't have trouble training those two in potty training..took a week two tops.. no accidents after that..but this dog..refuses to go outside to go poop..
I've tried feeding him twice a day.. once in the morning once at night.30 mins later taking him out.. but he refuses to go.. soon as he comes in..he goes..now peeing he whines and he goes out. just not poop...
I also am having some trouble with nipping. mainly when my wife and I are cuddling tickling wrestling. he tends to think I'm hurting her and barks and nips. now we've tried the soft voice and saying no its okay..reassuring..but he keeps it up
I've done the working with him thing..he sits lays down stays. heels. brings and drops his toys..backs off when I ask. that part hes really really good about the fastest learning dog I've trained. but its the nipping and pooping
Hi,
I have a couple ideas you might try. When you and your wife are cuddling, tickling, and wrestling, just put your pup in a kennel.
You also say that your pup refuses to go out and poop.......you need to use a leash and a kennel. If your pup doesn't go poop outside after he eats, then put him in the kennel if your NOT watching him. After another 20 or 30 minutes, or whatever time you think is appropriate, then take your pup outside again and so on and so on. Eventually your pup will go poop outside, but you have to be consistent.
