I assume you are referring to the OP. As for my dogs, they have never been "locked" up together. I'll crate one while working with the other, but any other time, it's more of a bed with wires around three sides.
Two dogs in one crate ---that goes against dog behavior doesn't it? Crates are a dog's safe haven like having their own den.I know mine are possessive about their crates.Ugo nor Angus would never consider getting into any crate but their own now that they are crate trained.I have opened the doors to both crates and tossed treats in there and they just go to their crates and if I leave one crate door open the one who's crate is closed waits for me to open theirs. They've never growled over them or anything its just an understood thing.Its personal to them.Their places.
I'm glad that you tried to educate that person about having seperate crates you did all that you could.Its only a matter of time before they see the error of their ways b/c we know eventually a dog is going to be hurt or killed and I hate it for them.Some ppl can't be told anything they have to learn for themselves and you warned them.Its all you could do.
