My boys have been on raw previously, but we ended up with 2 more humans so had to give up the freezer for a while. When I switched them back I also switched my mom's dog. She seemed good, and I slowly introduced her. But for the last few days she's vomiting all of her food up. She doesn't seem "off". Any ideas as to why suddenly she'd be getting sick on it? It's extremely rare for her to vomit (unless she drinks water too fast then she spits up water). When I was switching her it was simply small things of refrigerated food and wasn't frozen (I bought very small packs of things just for her). Now things are frozen...is it possible it's still too cold and that's upsetting her belly? When it's fed it's a little crunchy inside still, but it's the same I've always done.
I'm not sure if what you are seeing is exactly like what I see with my dog, but:
Whenever we changed Hans diet he would vomit. This happens with diet changes and unfamiliar foods. So we have learned to make his dietary changes slowly over time. When changing foods we'll start out with a mixture of 1/3 new 2/3 old gradually changing the proportions over about five days until he is completely on the new food.
Last week I was eating fritos cornchips. I dropped a couple and Hans scarfed them up. 10 minutes later they were on my carpet. I'd weigh a lot less if my body reacted that way to junk food.
Sorry I didn't think to mention what it looked like. It's really dark and is definitely food (chunky). One of my dogs had bile when I first switched him back twice in the first few days. He's fine though. She's not getting anything but the raw. I did the fast for a day technique and added one food item at a time for a while. She was fine until I added a little bit of ground beef just a few days ago. I didn't realize that the food was still frozen at night when my mother feeds the dogs and didn't know she was vomiting until last night.
So this morning I thawed out the breakfast fully and left out the dinner to thaw. Hopefully that is all it is. I haven't talked to anybody at home today, but will update when I find out how her belly is today. She doesn't usually get sick, even with food changes.
I feed her twice daily in fairly equal amounts. She's getting about 2% of her body weight right now as she's not a very active dog. I figured I'd start on the lower end and adjust from there as she gets chunky fast.
They were eating mostly chicken necks/backs, some liver/heart, sardines and mackeral, low fat ground beef, and pork necks. I took pretty much the same exact menu that's on this site :-)
She was fine until the beef was added. Never got sick, or had the runs on any of the other foods.
