i tried the embark one last night. I should have read the ingredients because i added the kelp/alfalfa mix in it. They both looked at me with a "where is the bony part?" kinda of look.
I'll try again in a few days without adding anything.
Try feeding a very light RMB meal alongside THK. Something like a couple of chicken necks accompanied by THK. That way, they'll get the crunchiness they like, and if they accidentally lap up some THK in the process, they may find it actually tastes quite good.
The consistancy can throw even the best of dogs off, but once they get past that, they generally adore it.
Mine gets excited when she sees me take the box of Thrive out of the cabinet.

just to close this topic (always help when other folks are making some research after)
Ground hamburger didnt work neither (sigh)
Since i'm feeding it every other day, i'm sticking to a tablespoon of peanut butter with a drop of honey (so it doesnt stick to their palate so much). hope it's not doing to much damage on a regular basis.
on Honest kitchen, turns out they like it without the additional kelp and alfalfa. It did turn very loose on the other end, but i served it without bones, so i should have known better than to do that while they get used to it.

Yes. Sugar is even worse for dogs than for people. JMHO.
Dogs are particularly vulnerable to sugar-fed cancers. This is one reason why the produce we feed to dogs is the very lowest-sugar produce like greens, small amounts of blueberries, etc., and not starchy vegetables or sugary fruits.
