Quick question--Sometimes my pup starts biting at the lead, and he tries to turn it into a game. I do like on the video where you pop it out of his mouth and give him a no. I also stop walking when this happens.
BUT, this doesn't seem to be working very well. It seems like it just ups his drive even more and makes him jump around and act like a fool even more.
He'll be doing it, I will stop walking, pop it out of his mouth and give him a stern no and he'll usually stop. I will praise him for stopping, then when I begin walking again he'll do it again. Sometimes he doesn't stop and he just keeps biting at it more.
Where am I screwing up here? Is there anything else I should try? Maybe bitter apple on the lead? lol
Try redirecting him to a toy on a string, and let him carry it. A lot of puppies bite their leads, I always chose to ignore it and eventually they quit.

I have had pups who did this also, and like John sais I redirected on a small tug and just let them carry that.......eventually they will out grow it and ignore it.
