Hello I have two questions , but first let me tell you about Molly so you can make a better determination on the problem. Molly is a Female GSD/Canaan Dog mix and is about 7 months old. She was a rescue dog and we got her when she was about 5 months. I have successfully potty/crate and obediance trained her, with two exeptions.
First is submissive peeing. Molly does not display this problem with me, but she does with my wife and any female stranger she meets . When ever she see's my wife she runs up to her and pees, then wants to be petted. I realize this is likely submission peeing, but I dont understand why she only does it to females. Expessially since I am the main trainer and disiplinarian (my wife had a obediance problem with Molly to begin with since my wife is pretty soft spoken, but I have since broken the both of them of the problem ). I read the Q&A on the subject and did not see anything about this. I am worried that since Molly is past when most dogs grow out of this it may become a long term problem.
Next questions is conserning mouthyness. Molly LOVES to playfully nip at hands. She will obey a "NO BITING" command from any one who says it, my wife included... for about 30 seconds. Then she picks it right back up again. We have been working on this since we got her, but have been unable to break this problem. We have tried the "NO BITING" command and then giving her a chew/tug toy and that seems to work for a little longer, but she always returns to nipping.
