the vet gave me a gel to put in his eyes but ace will not let me apply it, i have been having to sneak up on himwhile he is sleeping but still i cant get the required ammount into his eyes, does anyone know of an eye drop i can give him or maybe even some antibiotics or something, i hate to see him like this and it pains me to have to keep trying to put this goop in his eyes when he clearly doesnt like it.
and i also recently just got a puppy and have to keep them apart until his eyes are better as it can also spread to her :-(
Are there any other vets in your area? Maybe call another vets office and ask them if there's another form of antibiotic that you can give Ace. I don't think I've ever heard of a dog having pink eye. Vet say if it could spread to you? Hopefully your puppy doesn't get it.

Pink eye is not that uncommon in dogs. Drops or ointment are, I believe, the most effective (and only) way of treating it. Oral meds alone won't do the trick.
Ointment is preferred because it stays put but you can certainly ask your vet for drops. I like the drops because they are quicker to apply.

thank you
Be ready before rounding up the dog and do it quickly and calmly. Give him a small piece of VERY high-value food first, clearly showing him that the remainder is right there for after the procedure. While he is chewing, apply the med, and then quickly give him the rest, with praise.
Make this treat the eye-med-only treat. Make it spectacularly wonderful. Warm cooked bacon comes to mind.
ill try that but im almost pos it wont work, the vet finally called me back and she is going to give me actuall drops, wich would be alot easier to put in, i could judt squirt it in there before he has time to pull away, and hes 92lbs kinda hard to hold him and his head at the same time all while trying to pull his eyelid down to get the gel in. even with someone holding him its still proves to be impossible
