Ok, I think by the subject you know where I am going with this post.....
My 13 week old GSD is great, but just recently he has been barking at strangers. He also is very eager to meet new ppl, but squirts a little pee when he meets someone new. I have never had a dog that would do that, i did have a female that would squirt after a correction. Her peeing was due to fear but my new pup is possibly because of excitement. I am not sure if it is because he is happy to see them and is too excited or if he is scared but curious....
I dunno, any suggestions on how to either increase confidence or to not make him soo excited?
It could be either excitement or submission. Ask new people to wait several minutes before acknowledging him- this will lessen the excitement factor. Don't correct him for peeing- they are often unaware that they are doing it from what I have read. Therefore if you correct them they don't know why. For all they know the correction might mean you don't want them to approach or greet people.
When my dog did this as a puppy I would assure people that he only peed on people he really liked <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> . The good news is that mine did eventually grow out of it.
I actually had a pup returned to me for this "problem" - male pup, 9 months old when returned, he had been doing this for several months - he would squirt a little pee when he was excited, happy to see someone - mainly his owner, who got tired of cleaning up after him. I got him back, thinking "submissive urination" (we did get his urine checked and checked for UTI) - but this pup was not submitting, in my opinion he was just very happy to meet people, very excited, VERY outgoing friendly happy pup. When he met me the first time, he was happy, wiggly, squirmy, waggy, but did not pee. Met my dad - same thing. Mom - peed on her feet he was absolutely beside himself with happiness when he met her. Took him to the vet, no problems - he greeted everyone like that but didn't always pee. Now he's in a new home and has never had the "problem" again.

If he`s healthy he`ll out grow it. Have people ignore him for a few minutes when they arrive then when he settles calmly greet him. It`s a tough decission at 13 weeks...wag my tail and greet people or control my bladder...wag my tail and greet people or control my bladder...wag my tail and greet people or control my bladder...
