Folks, I'm reading a lot of articles describing how to select the right crate size for your pup to grow into when he's fully grown...long enough to turn around, lie down, stretch arms, a few inches taller than he is, etc etc.
Problem is, I don't know what the heck that is in terms of actual measurements (dimensions). What size crate does one get for a GSD male pup so he will use the same one for his entire lifetime?
I'm thinking the Kennel Aire 155 might be good at 42" x 26"w x 32" h. Is this right? Or should I go bigger to a 48" x 30" x 36"?
If he appears that he'll be a large gsd I'd go with the bigger one. I spent a lot of money on crates and kennels because I went through 3 kennels and 1 wire crate with my male who is now almost 3 years old and weighs 80 lbs. He chewed on the wire crate and chipped a canine so I propmtly got rid of it and put into a series 500 vari-kennel which is what he sleeps in now. He has free roam in my outside workshop building which is where he and my 3 year old bitch sleep.
