He's young, he isn't bonded with you, he has no reason to respect or listen to you yet. Were you able to see him work with his handler/trainer before getting him? Do you know where he was in his training? How are you playing with him, with a tug or ball or something?

The dog is probably still wondering 'when do I get to go back home'. A week really isn't much time, another two or three weeks may well tell a different story.
Two years 'is' still a young dog, time to start learning to grow up for sure, but still young at heart and mind. Was he bought as a green dog? Or trained?
Are you to be his ultimate handler? Or will he be off to someone else after your training is done.
If my dog isn't learning, I'm doing something wrong.
