I'd bet there are damn few on this forum that hasn't had their dog leave them bruised or bleeding in the process of training them
Training? How about just playing with them! My son and I like to play keep away with Hans. We get his favorite Frisbee, the one that looks like a cheese grater, and throw it back and forth to each other. The rule is that if it looks like Hans has a chance to get it, just back away and let him have it because he doesn't care what else he gets between his jaws as long as part of it is Frisbee.
My son threw the Frisbee straight at me. Hans was coming like a freight train. Just before the Frisbee got to me it started to fade and curve to my right. I thought, OK, let Hans have it. Hans attempted a 90 degree turn but his momentum caused him to broadside me right at the knees, hard, and down I went, hard. I was sore for a week.
Hans, Frisbee in mouth, came over to investigate. He wasn't the least bit apologetic.
I actually had a family pull their car over and stop to ask me if I needed help, when I was out in my yard playing with my dog. They thought I was being attacked.
I DID notice though, they only rolled down the window about half way and didn't attempt to get out of their car. I laughed so hard I hurt MYSELF. My dog is such a mush-ball too.
We had a dobie when I was about 17... her name was Vesta. I swear that dog would have opened the door, served ice tea and given you a pillow case to carry out the silver and china!! Thankfully she looked the part of a meanie, but she was allll mushy inside.
Murphy is much less congenial than that about strangers entering the house when I'm not home (fortunately) but otherwise we refer to him as "Saint Murphy" because he never hurts me on purpose, only because he's a lummox.
Amish leashes awhile back.
The first night I used it, I noticed I was getting paper-cut like slices on my fingers, but didn't think much of it.
you know,i had the EXACT SAME experience when i first got my leather leash from here...it eventually went away, btu i had cuts everywhere...
never thought enough of it to return it though.
Originally I just emailed to ask if it was normal and if perhaps I needed to condition the leash in someway (leather CAN be funny).
They insisted that I return the leash and sent me a replacement.
I wasn't sure if perhaps I was just really leather challenged. My husband had to goad me into emailing to ask.
