The lack of OFA-Certs on the dam, and titles on both dogs makes me a little leery...
That doesn't mean your pup is bad or won't be capable of the work. What sort of Hip Contract did the breeder give you?
Have you seen the parents worked? Titles aren't necessarily everything, but I'd at least want to watch the sire and dam in some bitework if I'm buying a pup for protection.
I am going to get them done right at a year. I have been making him take it easy on his hips I lift him on high jumps and dont jog/run with him for long periods. Figured better safe than sorry.
He has been a great dog and has a nice size to him. At 8 weeks he was in at 16LBS Now he is huge I would guess 22Lbs or so.Will know on Monday when he goes to the vet.
Even if I have to get another dog for full protection I am more than happy with him. He has a great personality and for the price I paid I cant complain at all. =)
He has a nice alert bark and is already learning a "watch him or what is it type of command on his own.
Housebreaking is going great. He has made 2 mistakes on the first day and none since. He alerts me when he has to go.
No the helper was just a friend of his. The actually trainer I am going to be using I will have a name of tommorow. I have seen his work through quite a few local dogs. He has a resume that is quite impressive.
