My GSD's "big dog" voice came out just before he turned one year old. He had a big bark before that. But one day my son and I were at opposite ends of the house when we heard him growl at the front door, then bark. My son described the growl as something you'd hear in a werewolf movie. It was really scary. And the bark was deeper than we'd heard before. It was really something, the first time we heard it.
Yeah, I remember that moment with my other dog. This one already sounds like a full grown dog when he barks at the door and the five times he's barked at "threats". I'm going to get some video of him barking at a door knock, too. If his bark's already this deep, I can't wait to hear what it sounds like when he's older!
