Hi everyone,
Need some advice. I have been involved with Shepherds for approx 30 years. 3 in fact, but never overlapped any of them. Our current fellow is a strong, 70 lb male who jogs with me 3 times a week but is starting to show the so sad signs of age creeping up on him.
Today somebody who knows us has a family who is going into an apartment and needs to give up their 8 month old female shepherd. I am still waiting to find out which kennel etc as our middle dog although loved, was always a handful with his nervousness, so I certainly know the importance of good breeding.
Assuming this all checks out fine, my question is, how hard is it to bring a 8 month old female into a house with a 10 year old.... uh oooo un neutered male shepherd. Is it even fair to the older dog? Just wondering on any good advice folks on here can give on here. I had never thought about 2 dogs at once, maybe just getting soft thinking a a possible good Shepherd could end up with a bad home. So tired of hearing about folks who get a dog and find to much work so they get rid of them.
No, I will go and read this article. Also, no to the fool proof seperation. At least until I think this through. I guess I have never considered 2 dogs at the same time.
