Kinder goats are a crossbreed. They're a mini dairy goat created from nubians and nigerian dwarf goats.
Tech they can come from wherever Nigerian and Nubian goats are found. Back in the day on the goat farm we had a few early generation mini obers. They're very cute.
I wish I had pics of the girls still. They had the horn type and stockier build of the Pygmy dad and had the ears, face and marking of the Nubian mama, Spooky had the markings in white, and Pumpkin had them in orange. Got them on Halloween. The cutest things ever!
They now have careers in weed eradication for a family that leases out their herd of 50 or so.
i raised Nubian dairy goats for years (and may soon again), haven't ever fed raw, but, if i do get into it in the future:
i would be breeding primarily for milk production. expect on average 50/50 doe kids to bucks. the bucks will be castrated within 3 days of age and managed for butcher. we usually butcher by one year of age and the goats are fed to gain weight, ie grain + good quality forage/hay to maximize yield.
i would think most bones would be edible for dogs fed a raw diet as the goats are young, but like i said--i don't feed raw at the moment.
an option i've considered is to breed the milk does to a meat-type buck (or at least some of them, as one would want to retain some kids for replacement milk goats) to produce meatier kids. this would take some management, probably more than most ppl want to get into, however.
there are endless possibilities. i do want to note a couple of things however. 1)AI is an option if you want to breed to really good dairy bucks and availability to live covers is limited. 2) keeping a buck isn't so "stinky" if they've been properly dehorned/descented when kids. and it's not hard to do either.
and i LOVE Nubians Will--their milk tastes like ice cream!! best butter, best soft cheese....and NO GOATY taste if it's handled properly from udder to cooler.
