I have a 3yr old MinPin who freaks out barking whenever someone jogs by or rides by on a bike.
Would the bark collar help and if I use it will I eventually be able to take him off it and still achieve the same results???? Thanks Al
Will the Tri-tronics or Dogtra even FIT on a MinPin? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
No, you won't be able to take the collar off and get the same results. The first time the dog barks with the collar off he'll learn the rules of the game.
Collar on. . .don't bark.
Collar off. . .bark like crazy again.
That has been my experience over the last few years of using the collars.
The new tri-tronics should fit a min-pin just fine.
I have one dog who needs a bark collar reminder about every two weeks or so. My housemate has a bitch that is only quiet when it is on... depends on the dog.
Min-pins are very good watchdogs... sometimes a little too good.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I got the new tritronice bark collar and am very impressed w/ it. Usually I am awaken w/ my dog barking at critters/people walking by but not anymore. Its a nice collar. I currently have the collar set at level 2. I also was able to test the collar on myself by touching the probes and barking or making very loud noises nx to the collar.
I have a friend with a hand held device that emits a high frequency sound only dogs can hear. Whenever the dogs start barking he yells quite and pushes the button. He hopes the dogs will learn barking means correction.
That only works when the person is around though Cheryl. The bark collar works when you are not there to say quiet/correct the dog.
My female will bark if I am not home and she doesn't have the collar on. Amazingly enough she will shut up and not make a peep when my car comes down the driveway. She knows I do not tolerate barking and that I will put the collar on, so don't bother... my housemate appreciates it when I remember to put the collar on BEFORE I leave.. oops!
