I had my Bouviers hips evaluted and she is certified as OFA Excellent.. This was great news!!! Well her littermate sister just got her results which came back dysplastic.. I believe it was either borderline or mild.. It has been suggested I don't breed my girl because of her sisters results.. Both parents are OFA good, and everything else behind the 5 generation pedigree was mostly good 2 excellent and 1 fair..
She has a great temperment.
She still has her cerf and Cardiac certification to complete and needs her 2 majors to finish in breed..
I also plan to continue working her in PP when I find another trainer..
I was just curious of what opinions were out there.. I have heard alot that hips are 33% nutrition 33% enviroment 33% genetic and a bit of luck..
Would you breed this dog? I am in hopes of using her as a foundation b*tch.
Jackie not necessarily. The link below will bring you to an 8 part article of CHD. To proceed to the next part read to the bottom and below the credits is a link to connect to the next section. The article is written for breeders who are trying to make the same decision you are. It is well credited and honest in the clinical significance of any of the research/tests performed. I hope it helps you with your decision.
