I have a dog that was sired by one of their dogs they had - I have a black/tan male named Koti by Brando vom Nordstrum. I got him from another breeder in Texas. Koti has incredible toy drive and focus. So strong he will catch his toy in mid-air w/ a hard bite. Brings it back and wants you to throw it again. Will not touch it if you wave it in front of his face. Waits for you to throw it. He could do that all day. He has taught my other GSD to retrieve better by her watching him.
He's a great dog for me. He loves to fetch and swim and will dive into the water. He was my second G-bred GSD. The first was a pet quality female. She is lovely and very willing now to do anything and everything she needs to do. Koti was a step up. Higher energy. He had some problems before I got him and I am his 4th home. The first family that had him could not keep him because he chased and nipped one of their grandkids. The second home had problems w/ him biting strange males. I don't have kids and wanted a guard dog and thought he was perfect. I have had dogs all my life and had the other GS for a year before I got Koti. I can't imagine raising a puppy like one of these - alot of work!
Well, just want to say I don't know anything about the GerdeHaus Kennels, but I've looked at their website before. I did find a breeder in Fl that had what I thought were nice quality pups but they were $2500.
However I will say that I think Koti has tremendous potential and I've even thought about trying some Schutzhund with him. His ears are flopped because they got hematomas...
I will add I'm still very new to all this and when I get ready to get my 3rd GSD I will definitely spend some time w/ some knowledgeable people before making an expensive purchase!
