I thought I'd take a few moments to introduce myself to recent members of the Leerburg forum, especially in response to the few PM's I've been getting for training advice. First, I've never titled a dog, I've only done club level work and backyard stuff. I take my dogs and kids out in public to teach them all manners. Most everything I learned was from Leerburg DVDs, the club and this forum. So any training advice I give should be bounced off of professional trainers and people with title dogs. It also should be noted I'm training UberHunds that are highly motivated and bred specifically for work, sport and training. That is to say if you can't train a German Shepherd, get a gerbil.
A very nice person PM'd me asking me for advice on competive heeling. My son and I did this vid a few hours ago. what I'm trying to show here is the focus and using the lead. I have the puppers on a choke chain and lead in one hand and the treat/toy in the other. if you watch my left arm swing I'm giving the lead a light pop, just enough to get it to clank. also in the regular turn you can see the dogs come up in drive, in the reverse turn they aren't as cranked. Roxie has a nice heel but Erika looks like she is about to explode. what I cut was the ball toss reward and I ran Erika around a bit before I could get the heel not look like total crap.
Dennis... since you loved my farm fresh eggs so well, wadda ya say to your son videos me working with Falcon so I can see what I am doing right/wrong in exchange for some more golden orbs?? (18 eggs out of 20 hens YESTERDAY!!)

Wow sounds like a good deal, I'll try to talk him into it but he doesn't like dogs and hates eggs
