That's kind of the picture I was getting in my head. A dog heavier on defense than prey/play sometimes won't play tug w/a stranger, and like Steve said, he's a bit confused- playmate or adversary??? What are you training him for? PP or sport?
Yes he is on the defensive side. We took a break from the protection training for a bit. He is in training for Personal Protection. When the trainer trys to play with him with a tug or a puppy sleeve he kinda goes after the target but not realy. He is wonderful at home and will play with the tug and sleeve all day, but as soon as we are at training he shuts down. The ball drive is there, but the attention on the sleeve and tug is not there. Its frusturating!!
