That is a good point mushrooms love some good decomposing wood, i had a similar problem at my families cottage they always wanted to eat random mushrooms, i had to be vigilant about removing them, but if I'm not watching they might give one a try which is probably not great for them.
as well I asked my friend Google about wood chip yards, and apparently another concern is it attracts termites which again is probably bad for my self and neighbor relations. I'm starting to think i may need to employ the use of a skilled landscaper to help me figure this one out, there is a lot more factors that I had not considered.

You can do the research on your own but mushrooms like hardwoods and usually won't grow well out of conifer and pseudo conifers. If you stick with cedar as the plan you shouldn't have too many problems with the termites either.

Good to know.I could do the research, but that sounds very convincing. I think the cedar wood chips are the way to go then. Thanks a lot for the advice it was very helpful.
