A bite trained dog can be considered a weapon.
============================================
Richard in my city there is a lease law if you are walking your dog in a park, on a city street. But in your yard I don't think this law exist. The Southwest yards can be acres or fairly large lots, several dogs are common. There not a family in my cul-de-sac that doesn't own a dog or two.
This city also allows the pitbull to be bred as a pet, which is great. Any dog learns what you teach him, pitbulls are good dogs in my book. (The city is very open to dogs & citizens right to protect).
We also have a Bubba complex here and a random attack called home invasion (comes from the east and west coast), so having a gun & dog has a purpose here.
Bubba complex 1. I remember standing in my yard doing yard work and the meter man seeing me distracted thought he scare me, for fun.
The dogs where laying in the garage that was a bad, bad move that scared the hell out him, and me. Not his stupid move, but the dogs reaction to his playing. Now spraying the dogs at this point. Would have piss me off, I might would have bite him, control of them saved his ass, by inches. Apparently I've had some close calls and yes, I still have plenty of friends/family visit. Most love the dogs and know them by name.
A dog trained to bite, is a weapon? Humm.. Always though of it as building a team. But again you are probably right.
