This is our convention center being hit by a tornado this afternoon. It is just a couple miles from my house and I had been there two hours previous to set up for our dog show that is scheduled to begin Tuesday. Needless to say that is up in the air now....

Mother nature likes outdoor shows.
Tornado related weather is amazing. Back in Colorado Springs we used to get a bunch of the nasty weather off of the plains. The flash flooding could get rather epic at times. I remember one day driving to work I noticed water moving through the intersection I was rolling up to and the thought of hmm... that looks pretty deep passed through my mind as a Kia floated through the intersection sideways.
There was also the fine spring day that the dime size hail run off from my roof reached the doorknobs of my apartment.
You know, I love big storms. And, it was nice of those young folks to provide that video, but man, I can't help but think that perhaps they were taking a pretty big risk .
Glad your property came out of it relatively unscathed. As much as I love watching big weather, I sure hate the damage it does.
Oi... I live in Hurricane country and am so very, very thankful! I've never been in a tornado (we get them rarely and they have been short and sweet to date), but I have nightmares about them! They truly freak me out.
With a hurricane you get warning (sometimes way too much warning, but better than being caught completely off-guard!) and the ability and opportunity to take precautions.
I'm very glad you and yours came through unscathed.
