phaedra rieff Webboard User Reg: 07-15-2010 Posts: 741 Loc: bc, canada Offline	... and also new to the kootenays! hello all, i recently moved to the kootenays (bc, canada). i'm in search of some like minded people to work with on a casual basis. i currently work in a vet clinic, but also do obedience training with/for people. however, i'm hoping to find other trainers with working dogs to do some tracking and protection work with. i am from toronto orignally, where i belonged to a club run by an amazing trainer & mentor. i love living out here, but it is so frustrating to be the only person i know with a working dog that isn't agility or herder... plus i am planning a new addition to the family from a litter that is due in august - so i really need to raise him right! cheers!

phaedra rieff Webboard User Reg: 07-15-2010 Posts: 741 Loc: bc, canada Offline	thanks! i am getting a male gsd. here are his parents - sire: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/550457.html dam: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/517314.html i currently have a 5 year old male rescue gsd, who i adopted while working at the toronto humane society, when he was about 9 months old. but he is very sick. severe hip dysplasia, nodular dermatofibrosis, hypothyroid, and now some neurologica problems, possibly caused by cancer. i am going to have to put him down this week. he is the sweetest, nice dog, very well behaved but no drive. so i was never able to do much with him. i really want to do everything right with this pup, also going to train him for SAR.
