Of course, you are correct that I can't blame anyone but me for not having the foresight to deal with someone else leaving a gate open. The dogs are separated at all times and I'm working with them separately. It was my poor leadership skills that lead to the first fight. I'm in the process of learning about how to be a better pack leader from where I am now . . . which is at the beginning.
I agree that no one - dogs or people - should have to live looking over their shoulder. When I take the affected dog out for training or walking, we go down the street or some place neutral.
I am also working on finding another home for a couple of them but in the meantime doing everything I can to learn and reteach.
We're making a LOT of headway with the crate training! A lot! Also, we're making a lot of headway in coming in and going out.
