I just bought a 2005 Chevy Suburban .(Love It ! ) I need advice on dog crates/safety and crate securing in back cargo area.. I have a Pet Porter (40in by 27 by 30 in) crate that I used to use for my Newf. I now live with Maggie (58 lb Field Golden Retriever) who will be traveling on the road with me.(back and forth between Northern Mn and Ne. Would this crate be safe to use if we were in an accident ? (are wire crates safer ?/aluminum ?) I plan on usually leaving the crate in the back third seat cargo area - so I don't need to collapse it I have taken the third seat out. Can you recomend a safe way to tie it down so it won't move around ? Best placement in back cargo area ? I am hoping that it is large enough that it won't fly forward and kill me yet still keep her safe. What do Cindy and Ed think about this subject ? (long suv trips ) The back cargo artea on air conditioned and heated.
Thanks for any info you can give me !

If you look around this website under Dog Training Equipment there are a bunch of products for tying crates down. They are the best ones I have seen so far.
