The next thing will be the RMBs, in the form of skinned chicken backs if you have them. Post back about that, so we can offer alternatives, if not.
You could also slowly intro the frozen NV.
With this particular history, I'd probably start with the skinned backs for a couple of days and then add in the frozen multi-ingredient NV, because the backs are extremely unlikely to trigger any loose stools (as long as you don't overfeed at one meal) and can be the basis of a calcium:phosphorus balanced diet while you add the NV gradually.
I'm guilty of extreme conservatism in the speed of re-introducing food items to a dog who is recovering from an inflamed gut, though. I really really like to completely avoid any loose stools, even though it's certainly doable to adjust as you go along, backing up if you see any tendency toward diarrhea.
Well, things are still going okay! Or, they were....haha.
I started to switch them both over to the NV as they were doing brilliantly on the chicken. The transition was gradual and we had no GI upset from it!! I basically added tiny globs of the NV in addition with the chicken, and phased out the chicken. The puppy is still not up to the recommended amount, but I am slowly increasing her amount each day.
However, just last night, the Bull Terrier started having bad diarrhea again. I'm not inclined to think this is a food issue, as he had no problems on the chicken and has been eating the NV (alone, no chicken added) for several days without incident. I can't imagine that he would be reacting to the diet change now, so many days after the gradual switch, and with normal stools leading up until this point. So, he might have to head into the vet's sometime soon if this doesn't clear up.
Does someone have a raw diet schedule in a spreadsheet that I can use and details on transitioning food? I have a 3mo old boxer and I have no clue what I'm doing. Thanks
