Does anyone have any ideas on where I could find some good quality rubber flooring or tiles. I have hard wood floors and would like to put something down on top of it in my dinning room so me and Tenzin have some where to romp around and train this winter. Plus I'm worried about his hips he has been running and sliding around on the hardwood to long I need to get it fixed soon. I know they sell some at our local home improvement places but I really want something that is going to take a beating and last for a long time. Thanks
Feed stores should have them if you're around one, or you can get custom cut ones from Leerburg or other online sites. Google for rubber kennel mats. There are different thicknesses that you'll find but other than that as long as they are rubber and waterproof they all looked the same to me.

How about a carpet remnant with foam padding underneath, or even a piece of foam-backed "indoor-outdoor" carpet? Any big box home center has those items.
Rubber stall mats or tiles would be an item from a farm supply store--Tractor Supply is one.
I can tell you we tried that cheaper out door carpet for an area after my female was injured and that carpet did not stay in place, even with it's own rubber backing.
I would go with rubber as it would be easiest to keep clean and also gives the dog the best traction, with no carpet loop issues for nails to catch on. The only thing would be the strong rubber smell that will remain for a while until it can dissipate.
Over all though, I do think the rubber is the best choice, just my 2 cents!
eta; I think I did see something at Costco a while back in their automotive department, it would be worth a look/see.
Upon Haydn's arrival I replaced the very beautiful but impractical woven sisal rugs downstairs with 3/8" EVA foam mats from GetRung. Not the most durable solution but they 1. wipe and go, 2. not too expensive, 3. DON'T STINK! 4. come in purple
They are a bit scratched up by now but love them anyway. Good for raw feeding as well
