My name is Judy, my husband Ron and I (and our 2 teen daughters) had a new GS puppy join our family about 3 weeks ago. Josh is 11 weeks now (will post photo soon). My husband is a deputy and we hope Josh will be the 1st full time tracking dog for our county. He has great food drive, good prey and ball drive, and eats like a horse. I think we've both read most of this board and ordered videos too, I plan to pepper you guys with questions, hope your ready
We're in Round Rock just north of Austin, we do visit the Dallas area from time to time, my sister-in-law is in Denton and mother-in-law lives on a hobby ranch in Montague County.
We're doing the basic commands ourself, he'll be going to Canine Headquarters in Georgetown (TX) for tracking training a little later. If he turns out not to be police dog material (and even if he is) I'll probably do agility with him later.
Welcome Judy! Looking forward to pictures and hearing more about how your pup does with training etc.
I wish you all the very best with training and hope he is everything you want him to be. How exciting he will be training for tracking with your husband!
