Does anybody on here have any experience with Cetyl M? I have an older foster dog with achy joints and am wondering if this stuff would be a help for her (in addition to her glucosamine, salmon oil, vitamin C, and vitamin E...)
I've heard very good things about it and will probably try it out in the future with my dogs. A herding trainer I've gone to has a middle age BC with significant arthritis in his feet due to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. But when he is on Cetyl M he is still able to work just fine without pain.
I used to use it with my X-country horse for his hocks....It was truly remarkable, almost like a miracle. Now this was a hard working equine athlete. You could see the difference in just a couple of days.
I will also add that over time (years) it would take longer to see results & eventually the results were not a dramatic as in the earlier years of use. It was also not something that I used daily for years. It was used when performance needs dictated its use.
I also used it topically for myself. (totaly different dispension for human use) Its results were was also very good.
My family owns a small buisness called Ameri-Pac we make nutritional supplements, pharmacuticals, and also pre mixes that are added to pet foods. We make a Cetyl M product for a company called Response we have heard really good things from people who used it definately worth a shot. I'm not sure how many companies make Cetyl M products but I know the Response product is well formulated and manufactured in a safe clean facility.
Having worked in the animal health industrty for over ten years I would definately encourage people to find out as much about the product they are giving their dogs as possible. There is not alot of oversite from the FDA on nutritional supplements and unfortunately alot of companies slap together formulas often with poor quality ingriedients. I call them snake oil products and there are a ton of them out there.
The one that I used was from my horse's Chiro/ Acupuncture vet. It was 10-12 years back the last time that IU used it h& I can't remember the name that it was marketed under.
