I feed my dogs salmon oil and vitamin e, do I need to feed flax seed oil, or cod liver oil? I noticed they were all listed together on feeding a raw diet page, didn't know if i should feed them all to my dogs or only one of those listed. thanks sharon
do I need to feed flax seed oil, or cod liver oil?
Nope.
A well balanced and varied raw diet, fish body oil, and vitamin E will give the dog everything it needs.
Dogs don't use flax seed oil very efficiently. Fish body oil is a much better choice.
Fish LIVER oil contains lots of vitamin A and D. Enough that you could possibly over-do both by using fish LIVER oil on a regular basis.
Flax seed oil and fish LIVER oil give the dog nothing that isn't more readily available in a balanced and varied raw diet, fish BODY oil, and vitamin E.
