I'm super lucky that my dog will almost always emulate my energy no matter who else is around. He's one of only two dogs that I've ever had that it was very difficult for another person to influence. It's super easy for me to get him wound up and excited when I want though
On the upside, it's not easy for anyone else to influence his behaviour. On the downside, if ever I'm sick he's a real pill for anyone else to deal with.
I just got over the flu, and here is a quote from my daughter after she took Murph on a walk: ".....he screamed the whole time, and he kept wanting to run home, but he sh** so I'm calling it a success. Are you better yet!?" My daughter is one of those people who is naturally calm and competent around animals, and has tons of dog and horse experience, so his behaviour isn't her doing.
