I have a newborn puppy, with the back feet not flat, but turned to the inside of the feet, facing each other. I dont know much about it and if it would ever get normal again.
The pup can use her feet and i tested for strength. Maybe it was just obstructed in the uterus... if anyone have some info on this could you please give me some advice.
IME feet such as you describe in the first day or two of life is often just as you mentioned, from malpositioning in the uterus, and it usually straightens out in a few days.
It might be a congenital defect, however -- if it is, the pup may have other defects as well, internal ones that you cannot see.
I would provide a surface in the whelping box that provides good traction (not slippery newspaper) and wait and see what happens.
Others with more experience can likely help you better. Hope it's OK!
Thank you so much for your reply.
It helps me a lot.
I tried to put a phote in here, but i was not succesfull.please try and see if you can open the link, then you wil see her feet.
Regards
Cecill
