So I may have spoken to soon about Ambers progress, I worked the overnight so she spent the night with my overly indulgent sister, then it being a beautiful day and all the ice is gone I took her out in the yard to play fetch, well of coure the neighbors PIA cairn comes running up to the fence all dog aggressive (this dog did this with my last dog and he instigates all of it). so poor Amber got one fetch when I had to bring her in, So i let her calm down then we went for our walk. Because of the neighbors dog she was just all reactive, attempting to chase cars on the leash, pulling and so on. I realized I was tired, short on patience and decided to go a short route and we spent the walk working on obediance, sitting when cars passed, etc. I actually had a very proud moment when towards the end a dog at a house was going off across the street and she started to look, and I said Nope, and she actually averted her gaze, didn''t bark at all, and kept walking straight!!! OMG, I was just saying good girl, good girl, but my heart was leaping! then almost to the house she actually initiated her own sit when a car passed and stayed sitting and just looked so proud... So although it was a step or two back, we had a good moment she didn't get her long walk but we can do that tomorrow. Its fun riding the rollercoaster...
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.

..So you didn't speak too soon at all about progress -it's forward through hurtles, not always a completely straight line..it makes my heart leap too when they start offering behaviors -YAY AMBER!!
Yah capone loves tug more than anything in the world I think lol when you try to play fetch he looks at you like "you idiot why do you keep throwing it?!" I want to get him that ball that's on a string from leerburg. I think he'd love it.
I bet someone will have a good idea encouraging a good bite/tug. But if treats work that works too
Get him a Gofrrr Ball - the one that sort of works like a slingshot. JD absolutely loves those. He's had about, oh 20 or so
