Mine do the same thing. I use the bottom drawer of my fridge as capones food drawer. Nothing else goes iin there so the blood doesn't bother me as much. But I'm going to look into the ziplock freezer ones! We pick up again soon. I really want a larger freezer! I may have to start looking on craigslist or something.
Best deal I could find on new, and I wanted new because all the used ones I found were not energy star rated and/or cost WAY too much to run 24/7. Besides, most wanted $150-$200 for a used one anyway...
I only use Ziploc and still occasionally have this issue. I wonder if the bags get bumped around and punctured sometimes. My kids tend to root around in the deep freeze looking for Popsicles.
I'm using the plastic reusable rectangle gladware because I started feeling guilty about going through so many plastic bags. They stack nicely in the freezer and actually aren't as messy when I'm filling them with. And no leaks in the thaw phase.
