mainly to Connie; could you please give me advice on dose of following. you did give previous advice but i thought i would check with THIS product. i am having trouble sourcing this stuff locally n its this or nothing.
the vet told me not to waste my time n money on this stuff and would not give advice.
Natures Own odourless fish oil, 1.5g. does not say salmon oil just fish oil conatining orange oil n orange juice. EPA 270mg, DHA 180mg, fish oil 1500mg. tested for mecury but doesn't say the test results??? what sort of test is that, i guess it means meets human spec? all human grade gel caps.
Natures Own natural Vit. E gel caps 500IU, d-alpha-Tocopheral 335mg
dog 18-20months, female, 32kg, sorry don't know what that is in yr weird US units - get metric people.
I put up a link to the Nature's Own fish oils caps which I used to use and was advised by Connie that they're not real good so I switched to Swisse Wild Salmon Oil, much better product and seems to be available everywhere I've found it in the local supermarkets as well as the chemists.

I would start with just about a gram a day of the fish oil and work up to the 3-gram dose I use (that is, a gram per ten pounds of dog). I would find the smallest d-alpha E I could, which will probably be 200 IU, per day, at this size.
Is your fish oil in the form of gelcaps or liquid?
eta
If gelcaps, they are probably a gram each (1000 mg). If liquid, a measuring teaspoon is about 4.75 grams. So you could start with a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon.

Edit reason: eta
Right now I have the 1000 mg gel caps but they are left over from when I had Sierra. As the puppy gets bigger, I will be switching to the liquid. Otherwise I'll be spending all day just giving a gazillion gelcaps.
