The first call that Portland Police received last night was from a man locked in a bathroom being terrorized by a guy with two German Shepherds outside the door. The next call they received was from a homeowner holding two German Shepherds and saying the guy in the bathroom was actually a burglar he just caught. Both calls were accurate descriptions of the situation.
It's just that breaking into a home is a crime, while chasing a fool-ass burglar into one's own bathroom isn't.
Per AP:
Lt. Kelli Sheffer says the intruder told police he had just broken into a home Monday evening when the owner arrived--and the caller was worried the homeowner might have a gun.
Accompanied by his two German Shepherds, the homeowner found the intruder and asked what he was doing in the house. That's when the stranger locked himself in a bathroom and phoned police.
The homeowner called police with his account.
Thus, 34-year-old Timothy James Chapek is now in jail where the snarling dogs come in human form.
