Hi everyone. I have a 4 month old English Mastiff who is doing really good at potty training. Well I thought so anyway. She holds it all night during bedtime which is almost 9 hours. But when she is up during the day she wants to go out every 5 minutes. But when we do take her out, she will pee every time. There are some times she won't warn us (usually she'll whine and go to the door) and she'll just pee right on the floor. I am trying crate training now. I let her out every hour or so to go to the bathroom then we play for a little bit and then she goes back in. Am I doing something wrong or will she get the hang of it? We have been trying to potty train her for 2 months now.
That sounds to me that she is having lots of urgency and I would suspect a possible UTI.
I would have her checked out at the vet. To me, it doesn't sound like a potty training issue if she is needing to go every 5 minutes.
It is that or she is not emptying her bladder fully when she goes.
JMO.
I think it may be that she isn't emptying her bladder. My husband seems to think she never finishes going. But I will look into a possible UTI. Thank you.

I would asap; it does sound very UTI-ish, and not emptying her bladder can also be a health-issue signal.
