It is going to depend on the size of your dog. Once you get him home put in the divider if you want to use it (I never did - I wanted my pup to have enough room to move around a bit) and then figure out what works for his size weight.

Once you have him, you can work out where to place the divider.
If the crate doesn't fit in the back of your vehicle, then you'll need to consider alternate transport options to-and-from training.

yeah we have a hyundai accent LOL. I bought a small pet one to get him home from the breeder. Best thing about petco is I can take it back. The lady that got them down told us many times it's OK to bring it back. I love the place now. I have a bigger one on my moms farm I have to look for soon so I can use it to take him to training.

I think the best thing you can ever do in housetraining is babysitting the dog for the first 24-48 hours. I did this with my puppy, I stayed awake all night so that I could catch him trying to 'go' on the spot. I had a male so I used the back-end pick-up strategy and a 'no' to stop the peeing, took him outside, and praised him with my command words (Good, Outside).
He was housetrained in 2 days or less, that way.

I've never tried the back end up method. does that work majority of the time for other people as well?
Clarify by spelling every little thing out. Some people can be extreme when drawing their own conclusions.

It shouldn't be much different than your last mal puppy. You've done this once before. Review your old threads. I'm not going through this again.

Hey, guys...this is a thread form NL that was from last April & May & brought back into 'current status' by Webboard User YESTERDAY.
Although I have to completely agree with the sentiment about the original OP. He should NEVER own another dog as long as he lives!!
