I recently broke down and purchased a dehydrator after paying 10 bucks for a bag of dehydrated goodies and feeling like I was totally ripped off for something I could do myself.
Anyone ever do this? I would love some tips!
I will be stealing out of my raw stash for items to dehydrate: beef liver, kidney, spleen, tripe...chicken stuff etc.
I also have some raw beef tracheas to try, as that was a favorite item of my dogs' out of the bag I bought.

I gotta run, but do a search. There are two (that I recall) detailed threads on this.
Most of the advice about dehydrating animal products is going to depend on what unit you bought, IMO. Is it a Nesco or Excalibur? Which model?

I have another general tip: Try to find a place where the unit can remain out and accessible. If you are anything like me, the novelty will go from 100 to negative-13 in a week if you have to pull it out and set it up where it's in the way every time you use it.
