I have an odd question. I know German shepherds have a double coat and I know my dog loves the snow and even sleeps out in a dog house with bedding material in it.
Here is my question: If I want to hike extensively and sometimes in colder climates like in Mt. Rainier....When should I leave him home. This isn't so much pit bull issue as it is his coat and warmth situation.
Can he be comfortable hiking and sleeping in a tent with me in the low 30's?
Can he even get in the 20's as long as he is in shelter and with my body heat?
I just want to know if you were going to go camping and hiking with a pit, what would be your threshold in temperature to leave them at home?
