Thanks for the kind words, however- Ivan is just a really amazing dog! Mostly I just try to not screw up with him lol. He just has a great work ethic, is smart, and athletic. Not terribly toy motivated but will sell his doggy soul for even a cardboard cutout of food. I think just about anyone would look good working him- even if they knew nothing at all. I do appreciate the compliments though!
The interview was because of his rehabbed fighter background. Just a little blurb about 45 seconds long about him working as a SAR dog and TDI reading gig.
The pup is a SchH prospect! Super excited about my first "sport" dog. He's a pretty cool guy too, great nerves and temperment, so far so good with training, just got first X-rays for hips/elbows, they look good- and many siblings are SAR, police, or SchH prospects and doing well. He's a keeper!
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
Cameron, it is all coming back to me now, as I remember you going through rehabbing Ivan. I am even more impressed now that I remember him!
While Ivan is a wonderful dog, you helped him work through all his issues. That takes a good handler who knows what to do and how to do it. Seriously, I so admire all you have done with him.
Best wishes with your SchH prospect! He is beautiful, I love the all black GSD, very striking.
What is this pup's name again?
