LOL, all I’ve got to say to say to the door barkers is be careful what you wish for.
And all work aside, I wouldn’t trade Vince for all the tea in China. He’s the devil I know and love. There’s also a certain confidence that comes with maturity and a stable environment. He’s made some great strides this last year. His sharpness is actually becoming a lot more situational appropriate as opposed to every Tom, Dickie and Jane. And out in public, he’s really getting it together. I’m actually very impressed and proud of him.
However, Koe is welcome anytime. He could sure use some of those carpet bathing lessons - just to lighten up on the home protection a bit.
It sounds like you've got a really great pup there. I'm sure he'll be everything you expect and more.
Vince seems to have the grass baths down- Koenig prefers carpet over grass baths. See, it does not matter if you shed on the grass. Mom gets flustered after she spends a long time cleaning/vacuuming carpets, and then sees a dog thrashing around on them.
He is already everything I hoped for, and more. Honestly, I spent 14 years attempting to train my last GSD/Rott to the level I have Koenig at now. We eventually competed in RallyO, but it took a L>O>N>G time to get there. If only I had known about marker training.... Koenig's recall still has my father amazed (GSD/Rott was a family dog. We got him when I was 11). We spent years together, trying to get Kramer to come off leash. Never perfected it. Koenig is fast, and snappy to return to me. (and then crashes into me... nearly knocking me over...) Love this dog, even if he doesn't bark at doors.
Yesterday Kari charged me because I went out into the garden with shaving cream on my face. It was instantanious. But once he came near me and I spoke to him, he figured out. I dont think he was totally convinced because he kept mouthing my feet for a while.
Free to good home: 2yr old DS. Has CGC & HCT. Currently ready for SchH BH. Easily capable of going to SchH3. Strong herding instinct, in training for JHD. TERRIBLE guard dog!!!!!!
You could swap him for a sweet crazy 2 y/o border collie. She could do everything through the SchH BH. not sure she'd make the cut for more advanced SchH work. But you could have fun with everything else.
And she barks at strangers!!
This morning I took her out in the field (owned by my grandparents so it's private property) for our usual romp and I notice that there was a couple guys out in the middle fixing a drain tile. So I turn around to head home so we don't bother them, then Kenzi catches them out of the corner of her eye. Kenzi, the total swwetheart who loves everyone. She starts in with "Woof, woof, woof" and runs toward them. She's like 300ft away and they DIVEto the safety of their equipment - which they are practically right next to
I call her back and she thinks about it a few seconds then comes.
I know barking dogs can be a bit scary. But sheesh. A 35# Border Collie? 300 ft away?
Toni does NOT let strangers pass the driveway. Unless she is playing with her EggE. When she has that toy, I could scream bloody murder and she wouldn't even look up. And Caterina is too busy doing "Drive Bys" to make Toni mad, and Drift is too busy barking at both of them like an idiot. Shyner and Tyra would bark, but that's about it.
ROFL. I know some pretty nasty BC's Mara!!!! But I'm not sure they'd send me diving for shelter while still 300ft away. I know they are fast and agile and all.... but you're reight. Sheesh!
Hahaha Kelly! I guess I'll have to get one of those. We don't have an EggE toy, but I've only heard good things about them
