Wow, CJ!
The Egge has been a great source of entertainment here, and Roger's #1 toy all winter. I got it because he always has a ball in his mouth and pushing another with his nose, this was a great toy for that, and he has some pretty good leg action going on with the Egge.
When I am out at midnight with him, it gets rather loud as it bangs into the fence posts, the neighbors must love us! He hasn't hurt his mouth on it, but has hurt his paw trying to get it out from the fence line where it slopes.
Tammy and I had a little discussion about the differences in her toy and mine. Hers being the Jolly Egg and mine being the Egge. I got this one from Leerburg and seems they’d discontinued it and had gone with the Jolly Egg when she ordered hers. It sounds like it’s probably a better product.
In any case, I let Vince have another go with it the other day and this was the result:
In his eagerness to grab it now he just hooks his canines in the holes he's made and I noticed it took a bit to drop it one time, almost like one tooth was a bit stuck. And as Greg mentioned, some pretty sharp rough spots are starting to form.
It just doesn’t feel like the safest toy any more with the modifications he's made to it. Not sure whether we should look at maybe smoothing out the edges or just toss it and chalk it up to another priceless Kodak moment.
My dogs have loved the Jolly Egg, but I have to make sure that we only play in secluded areas because of the constant "screaming" at the Egg that ensues with the frustration of not being able to grab it. I always play a bit of ball afterwards...
It is scary what these dogs can get their mouths around! Havok has no problem tottering around with his extra large Jolly Ball (the 18" hard plastic kind...) They could pick up the 10" size pretty easily, but I thought that this one would be impossible
Wow Jessica, don’t know how I missed that. That does look like a great ball. Love the pic with your little one carrying it, too cute.
It sounds like the “Jolly” products may be the way to go. That and the football are now on my radar.
No, I am not addicted to buying toys; I am not addicted to buying toys. I think I'm also in denial. But, but… they destroy them as fast as I purchase them.
