Hi everyone, I just had a question about weight distribution. Amber is a smaller famale, less than 60 lbs and she does have some padding over her ribs, is very fit, but her backbone is pretty prominent. I can easily feel her vertebra. I'm wondering if this is just a GSD thing, or if I should increase her food. She currently gets about 6-6.5 cups of Royal Canin large breed puppy (I'll switch her to adult at 15 months) she also gets 2 inches of Natural Balance lamb roll with her food. The food is divided into two meals and she tends to be more of a grazer, I like to keep my dogs on the thinner side but this feeling the backbone is a bit concerning. You can't see it, only feel it. So could it also be just a GSD thing where they don't really get a topline??? Oh and vet has not commented on it reports she "looks good" Thanks.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.

Is there some pad over the hipbones? Got a picture to link us to?
