Has anyone ever experienced acana Pacifica or any other grain free acana or orijen product that is really oily? I've been feeding orijen or gf acana fOr over three yars and have never experienced this issue. I opened a new bag today, of course when I am in Colorado with the dogs, and it is so oily it is wet and the moisture comes on my hand when I touch it. It smells fine, but I am concerned over the amount of moisture. Should I feed it? Going to a store in the morning to buy a new bag, if they have it. Otherwise I'm stuck for a week.
I would contact their customer service. I have only purchased small bags of Acana on and off for training treats, but it has never been as you describe...probably wouldn't feed it either!
Perhaps the bag has been exposed to really hi heat, and the heat has liquified the fat in the ration. This separation of the components of the ration is something that I notice in the calf feed that I use. It only occurs mid-summer.

That is what I am thinking too Betty. I do live in Arizona where it's been up to 117 the last few weeks. I never had it outside, but who knows about when it was being transported/stored. I am still waiting for Champion to respond. Other than rancidity and the inflammation that comes along with it, any problems with feeding this? I have been feeding as we are out of town and they are handling it okay. The oil seems to have absorbed somewhat back into the food (not completely), which is strange since I never had it outside an had it a week before we left.
