Dexter has this shivering on occasion maybe 4 or 5 time that I know of since last winter.
I always had excuses like he is cold or scared or...
Today when we came back for a run in the wood he went to sit on the front porch waiting for me to let him in. Normal for him.
He was shivering (warm enough for me to wear shorts) just the shoulders and seem to be kind of absent or daydeaming but not totaly gone. Never last more then a few minutes. Once his whole body was shivering not trashing like that dog in the video.
He kind of react to my voice and touch but not normally. It is like he is lost or something. He is not really more lethargic before or after too me. He is so laid back. He will be 2 at the end of august and he is fixed.
Vet want to seem him when he is doing it or to get a vid but won't say anything before seeing the action.
Breeder never had this before she say.
Any idea or info would be good. I am not in a panic mode more curious at the moment has he seem to be ok but would like to know if I should keep an eye on that.
Seizure disorder can begin as you describe and mature into more classic seizures over time.
Check your dogs environment for lead. I've had two cases of lead poisoning causing this sort of thing -- in one the source was a ceramic water bowl from Mexico, in another old peeling lead paint inside a dog house, the flecks would get on the dogs coat and I suppose he would lick it off.
lead has been ruled out. He has steanless dish or hard plastic bucket in the barn. Lead paint has been investigated in the past for a horse. Turned out that the horse had a Mg metabolism problem that caused nervouseness and muscles spasms.
I will keep an eye on him and see if he has found something that he should not have on the farm.
asphalt shingles is a source, sometimes they blow off the barn and "crumbs" are found in water tanks.
clay pigeons (skeet) is another weird source.
It's likely not lead, just was thinking of things I had seen.
